Hello and welcome back! Today I will talk about how things are right now and what I am doing for myself and my future. I am also not 100% well from the flu yet. And We picked up our son from daycare with a fever today. That will probably show in the text.
Spring
We are now in March and most places has entered spring. Usually if we are lucky spring comes in late March early April. However, this year we already have welcomed spring.
When I started writing the sky was blue and the sun was shining. Most of the roads and sidewalks is free from sow and ice. The temperature is on the + side everyday (we use Celsius here) and we see people coming out enjoying the nature again without many loads of clothes on.
Now that spring is here in the temp is getting warmer my health improves. Fibromyalgia is often called an amplifier. So with Fibromyalgia and Raynaud’s Phenomenon winter can be a nightmare for me. I am always cold during winter. And my pain often intensify during this season due to my bloodflow is lower then a normal has. When spring and summer is here I am able to keep warm and therefore my Raynaud’s won’t affect my Fibromyalgia.
What I am doing for myself
I am finally back to a workout routine with cardio, strength and stretches. And OMG how I sore I am this week. It will be interesting having work this weekend. Some days it will only be cardio and stretches. I am not always capable of traveling to the gym. And until we get some equipment at home then so it will be.
I am also talking with a professional. We are determining how much is rational for me to actually work with my diagnosis. We are also considering if there is a slight chance of me being able to work 100% in the future. My dream is to be able to work 100% and still living a life and not just existing.
The living room is finally coming together so it feels like a safeplace for me to rest and get my energylevels up. Still missing a few pieces here and there. But it will come when I find it.
After getting a new bed, second rug and some new summer curtains the bedroom feels amazing. My sleep is getting better. I have less pain when I wake up in the morning. I have even begun to wake up somewhere between 7 am and 7.30 am. This is totally new and as someone who usually needs 10-12 hours of sleep everynight that is insane!
My future
As some of you know, and others don’t. Back in fall 2019 I started a bachelor’s degree in History. But I didn’t pass all my exams. Then I got pregnant and after being done with my maternity leave my health deteriorated significantly. And I have spent the last year trying to navigate my health, my family and our home. So even if I wanted to finish the degree, I have not had the health to do so.
What I have done now is contacting the university I went to. This is so we can figure out a plan for me to be finish my degree. That is also aligned with my health and family.
I do strongly believe that in the right job I can work in a higher position then I do now. Not necessarily in my preferred field. But in a job that is more aligned with how I need to operate my body during the day.
Love
Emilie Cathrin
