Hello and welcome back! This week I am focusing on the simple beauty and elegance that surround me. The things that make me stop and really savour it.
Sometimes we Forget
Do you remember the last time something beautiful caught your eye?
In the busy life we live we forget to look for the beauty that surrounds us without us doing anything.
Right now I am sitting at my desk looking out of the window and OMG how beautiful it is! I see our lawn and trees spring to life after being asleep for the winter cowerd in snow. Across the road is a river that flows without effort. The river is low today so the rocks that is polishd by the water from river gets to have it’s moment. The forest is coimg to live again.

This is my view are when I am working from my desk!
This is where I really let my shoulders down when I’m working. And I can’t wait to start sewing again, and from now on I am doing it up here. I already feel so inspired to both write and make som beautiful clothes for myself and my family.
Simple Luxury and Elegance
We all have things in our home that can feel and look quite luxurious and elegant if we choose to let them have the spotlight in the right way.
Take the makeup stand/table/desk as an example! With the right setup in will look elegant and sophisticated. Instead of putting the makeup in a bag, put it in display. You can use a decorative plate that normally holds candles and knick-knacks to store your makeup.

Look at how gorgeous this looks. Simple, elegant and you get the luxurious feeling.
If you have a coffeetable-book you love the cover of, place it upright in a corner on your desk or on a shelf. It doesn’t need to cost you anything. Play around with what you already have and go to pinterest to to get more inspiration if you need it.
When I think of luxury
When I think of what a luxurious home looks like in my eyes, I see lots of glass, stone, ceramic, porcelain ect. There is little use of plastic.
It’s not a spesific colour, shape or brand. It can be old and new. It can be store bought or diy.
Two of the most beautiful furnitures we have stood here when we moved in. One of them I painted black and the other one I painted in a colour called Kilim from Jotun.

Beauty, Elegance and Luxury
Beauty, elegance and luxury goes hand in hand for me. And it has changed over the years.
I remember telling my man when we first started seeing eachother that if ever came home with a bouquet of flowers for me I would run in the oposite direction. Now I love flowers. My curtains around the house is decorated with flowers. I have flowerprinted bedding for summer. For me flowers feels feminine and elegant. And I remember a time when I tought being feminine meant to be weak.
So to end this post I want to you all to really look at your surroundings and take note of all the beauty that surrounds you.
Love
Emilie Cathrin.
