How I Embraced Coffee and Freedom After Quitting Energy Drinks

Have I seen or felt changes in my health since I quit energy drinks and got my driver’s license? Keep reading and you will find out!

When I used Energy drinks

While I still used to drink energy drinks daily, and mulitple cans a day I “felt” like a normal human being with some negative thoughts. On the few days I didn’t have any energy drinks I would feel so low on energy and really tired.
On the days where I had low energy to begin with I often felt the need to drink more then one to simply be functioning.

And I wouldn’t feel like I was evolving myself. For me it was a big contrast to who I want to be. But at the same time, energy drinks is so common now a days so you kind of feel like you somwhat fit in.
Here in Norway you can kind of put people in to two boxes. One for those who drink coffee and one for those who drink energy drinks instead of coffee.

I have always liked coffee, however I like it when it’s just the right temperature. Not too warm and not too cold. And that is a very short window, so more or less stoped drinking coffee since I never quite managed to savour it.

So when I started to drink energy drinks I rather quickly figoured out that I can go an sip on the can througout the day. And that is probably why I ended up drinking it every single day for years!

Without Energy drinks

It’s now been a month without energy drinks and for the health part I can’t say I have seen any changes yet. It may come or it may not. But some of my habits has changed and I have started to drink Cafè au Lait every day and that is one coffee that I simply love!

I usually start my day by make a cup of cafè au lait and while it cools down a bit I get dressed, and I take sips of the coffee while I do my morning skin-care and makeup routine just savouring my morning ritual. I generally feel more elegant and feminin with a cup of coffee in my hand instead of a can of energy drink.

It’s still vacationtime for me and our son so we are not back to our normal everyday routine and I believe that thats part of why I haven’t seen any changes for my health just yet. Since we are still in vacationmode we are taking every single day as it comes, and are not really paying any attention to what we eat and my workout is a bit less than normally.

I do still workout, but it’s mainly walking on the treadmill since it helps my hipissues alot and then I do some light stretches. I have vacation from strengthtraining at the moment.

Mindset Shift

I have now had my driver’s license for 15 days and it feels so naturally. It’s like I always had it and not something I have just gained.

I know that is because I changed my mindset before I had the physical drivers exam. While I took driver lessons I started to change the way I tought about it. I went from thinking that I am going to take the driver’s exam and get my driver’s license to thinking that I am a driver, I have the driver’s license and I believe that is the one reason why it feels like nothing has really changed.

Of course it has changed my life and I am more free than I have ever been before. And when we are completely done with vacation and our everydaylife really starts again it will come to light how much it has changed.

But as a powerful woman it is just a tool to reach my goals and make my everyday life easier as I navigate work, training and familylife.
